Well on Christmas i told you we got Wii Fit Plus, and Wii Active.
I tried out the Wii Active, and you know what, i am impressed.
The resistance band is lacking, but using the balance board and actually following the forms they suggest and describe, it gives you a work out.
I did a 20 min general work out, and yes, i was sweating and panting, and almost dead by the end.
Yes i know, that proves i am out of shape, but since i have never claimed to be in shape, its all good.
So after playing, and feeling really sore the next couple of days, i decided on my plan for weight loss.
I am going to sign up for Weight Watchers, and the Wii active has thier 30 day chalenge.
So on Jan 2nd 2010, (i am under no delusions that i will start anything on the 1st) i will start weight watchers new program, and start the 30 day challenge.
So stay tuned, i am starting soon!

Well i missed posting for a bit, but i really didnt do anything on the days i missed so its all good.
Leave it for Christmas though, to guilt you into wanting to get back to what i need to.
So, we as a family got a fun little gift, or gifts. We got Wii Fit Plus, and Wii active. So, i spent part of the day actually playing, and by the feel of it, working out my ankles.
Being um.. My size, the ankles can only take so much. I tried the balance board games, like skiing, skateboarding, and bubble path. I could feel it in my ankles after only 10 min.
So, the wii fit has a cool feature, it allows you to create a user, and track your activity and progress using wii fit. It tracks you balance, weight, BMI, and calories (estimated) burned, and will graph them for you.
So needless to say, i setup a profile for my self, and went to work. and 15 min later, i was ready for a rest. Not a ton, i was um.. taking it slow! but over all i had 35 min of "Play" time recorded for today.
Not bad, but tommorow i will try out the Wii active, and see what it has to offer.
So for all those who care, Merry Christmas, and Dont eat that last ham like i did! Sure it tastes good, but its not worth it!?!?!?!??!

Well, I walked a little today, and I missed breakfast so by 9:00 i was starving... Bad bad bad.
So needless to say, i threw my whole eating schedule off.
So a while ago, i bought a bodybug system. My subscription has expired, and i will renew it, but I am going to start wearing it tomorrow.
This should help to track what I am doing by way of exercise, calories burned, and steps taken.
I will track what I did, and try to up it a little every day... but we will see

Okay, so I decided there is no time like the present to start something, so sure enough I started today.
Now starting on a weekend is in my opinion a bad thing. I never eat good over the weekend. So starting today wasn't the food part, but I have decided the plan I am going to start with, in reference to food.
I figure I will try the Eating a decent size meal every 6 hours, and every 2 hours on the off time I will eat a snack. As I start this tomorrow I will blog on how it goes.
But today, I exercised! Or at least I am counting it as exercise. I figure over an hour of shoveling wet slushy snow should count. If I can count walking, I should be able to count this.
So to start tracking some stuff.
To date my average blood pressure is about 151 over 105.
My heart rate is averaged about 115.
My current weight is 278.2
My height is 5' 9"
BMI is 41.0
Resting heart rate is 115
Now, ideally the calculators online say I should be 152.
I don't know, I was 185 when Ii got married, and I was in pretty good shape, so my goal is 185.
So day one is done.... time to get ready for day 2!

My Weight Loss

This is the blog of a fat man.
I decided today, this is the start of me losing weight, and I figure I might as well do it and write a blog about it!
My intention is to try and document what I do for weight loss and what I do to get in better shape. (other than round!)
Now before you question my motives too much let me explain my reason.
It's not for looks, cause frankly I get better looking each day, so looks isn't the reason.
My main reason is due to the 4 very beautiful girls I live with.
I can't keep up with them. I decided that if a 4 year old can run circles around me, and that's when I am on a big bike and she has a small one, then I need to change something. I can barely keep up with my 4 month old, and she isn't even moving!!
Health is the other reason.
In my second post I will start to document the parts of my health that I think will be affected by weight loss. (there are a few)
So now my opinion in weight loss systems comes from my personal trial and errors.
I believe that you need to find a system that works for you, and just because it works for you, it doesn't mean it will work for others.
Now, I tried stuff like Atkins (that ended with a trip to the ER), Weight Watchers, Lean Cuisine, and many others.
The main thing I decided is that no matter which you choose, choose one that teaches eating in all food groups. Even fats, oils, and my personal favorite BEEF! (protein from chicken would work and tastes good, but not as good as beef). I believe leaving something out of your diet, like all carbs, or all fats etc.. could be bad for your health. Now I am not a health professional, so don't take my word as such, it is just my opinion.
Now the biggest key to lose weight is the thing I hate most...... exercise. It's not 4 letters, but I think the word is bad!
So I am going to try a few different things to see what I can tolerate the most and get the most out of. So hopefully I get something right and we can see changes in my health and looks.
So with that said, I think it's time to start.
If your reading this, I hope you enjoy and find something you might use, and if you have any suggestions by all means, I will read them all!
Thanks,
Marvel
